Dermatologist & Master Injector
Dr. Briana Brown, D.O., F.A.A.D, received a Bachelor of Science in Biologic for West Virginia University, graduating cumma sum laude, then transitioned to her medical degree training at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine where she graduated in the top 10% of her class.
During her time in medical school, Dr. Brown served as a reserve U.S. Army Officer while managing the stressors of medical school. Upon medical school graduation, Dr. Brown became an active-duty U.S. Army Officer and completed her prestigious Dermatology residency training at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. It was during her residency she was able to receive focused training in cosmetic and aesthetic medicine.
Dr. Brown was able to shadow Dr. Tina Alster in Washington, D.C. – who is revered as the nation’s top cosmetic Dermatologist. She also helped develop and implement a cosmetic training program to teach other Dermatology residents at Walter Reed. Dr. Brown went on to serve as a military Dermatologist, finishing her active duty commitment as a Major and the Chief of Dermatology at Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center.
Dr. Brown is married to Michael Brown, and they share four children together. Briana & Michael Brown together built both Southern Dermatology & Southern Vanity Medical Spa, and are intimately involved in their day-to-day operations with the utmost importance on quality patient care. The Browns both hail from Pittsburgh, PA but have come to welcome Georgia as their “forever home”.

Dr. Nelson earned her undergraduate degree from Spelman College in Atlanta, GA, before pursuing both her master’s and medical degrees at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN. Her professional interests span general dermatology, dermatologic surgery, and cosmetic dermatology. She is passionate about advancing the field through research and education, with numerous journal publications and presentations at several national dermatologic conferences.
Dr. Nelson is an active member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Women’s Dermatologic Society, the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery, the Skin of Color Society, and the National Medical Association.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Nelson enjoys staying active through pilates, traveling, and spending quality time with her husband.
Dermatologic Nurse Practitioner
Amy Williams M.S.N, FNP-C, grew up in central Georgia with a passion for the medical field and serving others. She followed her passion and attended Augusta University College of Nursing where she received a Bachelor of Science degree and graduated Magna cum laude.
Following this achievement, she worked as a critical access emergency department nurse at Piedmont Hospital in Thomson, GA. Throughout her time in this position, she developed her skills in critical care nursing while treating the unpredictable nature of the Coronavirus at the height of the pandemic. Following this, Amy went on to attend the Family Nurse Practitioner program at Georgia College & State University. As a part of the core curriculum, she was fortunate enough to observe and work in many different medical specialties. She completed a rotation with Dr. Brown at Southern Dermatology and affirmed her long-time passion for this medical specialty. She quickly felt at home with the incredible staff and resonated with the mission of Southern Dermatology.
Amy’s passion for serving others extends outside of her professional life. She has a heart for missions, both locally and abroad. She has traveled to Tanzania and Kenya, Africa on several different missions, including medical missions. Amy and her husband now travel to Guiamaca, Honduras when able, where they do medical and manual work in an orphanage and the surrounding village.
She is married to Ethan Williams who works as an engineer, and they have an English Setter named Beau. In their free time, they love to be outside either enjoying the beach or completing projects on their home. Amy is committed to providing the highest quality patient care and ensuring every patient feels comfortable, seen, heard, and valued.
Dermatologic Physician Assistant
Kierston Holifield, PA-C is a Georgia native graduating with her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Augusta State University in 2003. She then went on to obtain her Master’s Degree in Physician Assistant Degree from Nova Southerneastern University in 2007. Kierston and her husband reside in Evans, GA with their four children.
Kierston worked in the pain management field after graduation, but started working at Southern Vanity Medical spa performing cosmetic procedures in 2019.
Kierston was the first full-time physician assistant the Southern Dermatology Group added to their team in 2023. Both Dr. Brown & Dr. Falkner were amazed at how quickly Kierston learned the diagnosis and management of complex skin conditions. She completed a rigorous Dermatology training course and directly apprenticed under Dr. Brown for over a year prior to working at Southern Dermatology. Kierston is well known for her compassionate bedside manner and ability to create personalized skin treatment plans.
Dermatologic Physician Assistant
Kacee Morris, PA-C is a native of Harlem, GA, she graduated with honors from Harlem High School in 2008 and received a scholarship to play softball at Augusta State University (now called Augusta University). Her senior year while at ASU, she achieved the college’s first ever Capital One Academic All-American. She then graduated Summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Biology in 2012. Kacee obtained her Masters of Physician Assistant Degree from Augusta University in Fall of 2016. She is certified under the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA). Kacee and her husband reside in Harlem, GA with their son and daughter.
Kacee worked in the Obstetrics and Gynecology field after graduation, but started working at Southern Vanity Medical spa performing cosmetic procedures in 2019. Kacee has been a highly sought-out injector over the years, demonstrating expert technique and a skilled eye. Kacee joined the Southern Dermatology Team as a full-time Dermatology provider in 2024. We could not be overjoyed to bring such an intelligent and compassionate provider to our team.

Ella Ryder, Master Cosmetologist is a native to the Aiken, South Carolina area. She graduated from Midland Valley High School and was on the golf team. After high school she went to the Aveda institute in Charlotte to get her cosmetology license. Before starting esthetics school she was a hairdresser for three years at Hairknowlogy in downtown Aiken. Ella then went on to study at the Southeastern Esthetics institute for both esthetics and medical aesthetics training and graduated in 2023. Her specialties are Microneedling and facials and she loves everything to do with skincare.
