Dr. Rachel Falkner, M.D.

Rachel C. Falkner, M.D., F.A.A.D., joined the Southern Dermatology practice in 2020 after serving 8 years in the United States Army as a staff dermatologist. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology at the University of Alabama, graduating magna cum laude before entering medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham, Alabama. Following graduation from medical school, she completed internship and residency training as an active duty officer at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, MD. She served her country as an officer and physician at Carl R. Darnall Army Medical Center in Ft. Hood TX, and at the wonderful Dwight D. Eisenhower Army Medical Center right here in Augusta. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. She has special interests in the field of cosmetic dermatology; skin cancer diagnosis, management and prevention; autoimmune conditions; and pediatric dermatology. She prides herself on providing efficient yet thorough care for each of her patients, and believes education is a cornerstone to delivering optimal medical care. When not at work, she enjoys reading sci-fi/fantasy or historical fiction, doing yoga, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.
