Commitment
Accessibility
statement.
Southern Dermatology is committed to ensuring that our website and our offices are accessible to people with disabilities. We work to meet recognized standards and to remove barriers wherever we find them.
Our commitment
We are committed to providing equal access to information, services, and care for all our patients — including those with visual, auditory, motor, or cognitive disabilities. This applies to our website and to every aspect of how we deliver care in our offices.
Online accessibility
This website is designed with accessibility in mind. We target conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. Specific measures include:
- Semantic HTML structure with proper landmarks (header, nav, main, footer)
- Sufficient color contrast for body text and interactive elements
- Keyboard navigation support throughout the site
- Visible focus indicators on links and form fields
- Descriptive alt text on photographs of providers and the practice
- Respect for user preferences such as
prefers-reduced-motion - Form labels associated with their inputs for screen-reader users
Some embedded third-party widgets — including our booking and payment widgets — are controlled by external vendors. We have selected vendors who maintain accessibility standards, but specific behaviors within those widgets are governed by the vendor.
In-office accessibility
Both of our offices are designed for accessibility:
- Wheelchair-accessible entry, exam rooms, and restrooms
- Free, on-site surface parking with designated accessible spaces
- ASL interpreter services available with advance notice — please call ahead so we can schedule
- Large-print intake forms available on request
- Companion seating in exam rooms for patients who bring a family member or aide

Reporting an issue
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on this website — a page that doesn't work with your screen reader, a form you can't complete, a contrast issue, or any other problem — we want to know. Please use our contact form with a description of the issue, the page where you encountered it, and any assistive technology you were using. We will work to address the issue and follow up with you.
Ongoing work
Accessibility is not a one-time task. We review the site periodically and update it as standards evolve and as we learn from patient feedback. This page will be updated when our accessibility practices change.
